Official Statement by Porsche
Digitization, electrification and connectivity are revolutionizing the automotive industry. Porsche sees this as an opportunity and wants to make the most of it. STARTUP AUTOBAHN gives the innovative culture at Porsche an extra boost. The top talent from the international startup scene gives external inspiration that accelerates the progress the sports car manufacturer is making. To make this happen, Porsche provides the startups with an environment in which they can reach their full potential and focus on their work. So far, Porsche has realized more than 70 projects with Startup Autobahn. Around a third of the results are incorporated in series development.
A car consists of about 30,000 parts . When repairing a specific car part, workshop technicians use repair manuals: step-by-step guides on how to take out parts. To create these manuals, the workshop media editors need to understand the dependencies, e.g. how and where parts are connected to each other and need to identify special technical details, e.g. safety- critical parts, torque, time value. Obtaining such information previously required intensive and time-consuming searches in multiple sources, such as Excel lists, databases, PDFs, and required very experienced editors who are product data experts. With the electrification of vehicles and the accompanying change in vehicle architecture, new specific product knowledge must be built up for the editors, which must be communicated simply and intuitively in the workshops. Porsche has thus partnered up with the Berlin-based company SPREAD.

Next Level Aftersales Twin - linking CAD-Data, Meta Data and workshop media to create a new product understanding – Porsche & SPREAD
More than 90% of all traffic accidents are still caused by hu- man error. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) can remedy the situation and increase safety and efficiency on the road – if one knows how to use them properly. To offer cus- tomers the opportunity to experience ADAS in a virtual test drive, Porsche has teamed up with mixed reality company NXRT.
In the EU, around 88 million tonnes of food are wasted every year, accounting for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Company canteens play a significant role in this, as food is wasted during processing and preparation steps, in the form of leftovers on plate returns or due to miscalculation. One of the main drivers of food waste in canteens is planning uncertainty. To counteract food waste, Porsche teamed up with Munich- based AI startup Delicious Data.

Production forecasts are part of everyday life in industrial operations. Until now, however, colleagues in the kitchens of the same companies have not been supported by state-of-the-art technology in the same way as the processing area. Machine learning forecasts are changing that, supporting kitchen teams and creating process reliability. Porsche was able to pilot Delicious Data's forecasting solution last year and is now rolling it out to all sites.
This session gives you insights in Future Mobility, AI, and Automation
Not only the look and feel of cars have evolved in the past years, but also customer preferences and priorities have changed towards a more sustainable and electrified future. These novel changes not only challenge the existing mobility industry but also affect the whole ecosystem. OEM’s and suppliers have already tackled this ongoing challenge and will share their experiences in the upcoming session.
Participants will gain insights on the role of the car of the future and customer’s preferences and priorities. Further, the panel discusses the car of the future in the automotive industry and their differences between OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers and will give insights about pilot projects with startups from our partners Plastic Omnium, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche.
