Description

An overview of content and participating host/speakers.

Especially relevant for Commercial trucking Companies and Trucking OEMs.

ZF/Wabco and Gestoos are going to showcase their recent joint development efforts for a real-time intelligent vision solution for commercial trucking trailers. Gestoos’ expertise in computer vision and machine learning along with ZF/Wabco’s deep experience and knowledge of commercial trucking systems proved a winning combination. ZF and Gestoos worked on efficiency and safety related use cases for cargo trailers.

We are at a stage in the computer vision evolution where technology can understand what is happening in real-time. This can be used not only to generate safety alerts when anomalies are detected but also to deliver live cargo data which can be used to optimize operating logistics.

Gestoos has built a state-of-the-art technology that sees and understands cargo spaces. It will provide a dedicated snapshot of what is happening inside the trailer before, during, and after the loading or unloading process. ZF/Wabco utilizes sophisticated machine vision solutions and integrates them into various products, which are highly relevant to provide safety and improve operational efficiency for their commercial vehicle customers.

We will discuss the objectives of the project and the principal challenges faced. We plan to show actual videos of the software system in action and the project results. Followed by Q&A

We will discuss and answer the following questions: Learn how the Gestoos & ZF/Wabco have leveraged CV and AI to better understand in real-time what is happening inside the cargo trailer. From height profile analysis and individual object detection to cargo shifting during transport and person detection, the software solution provides valuable data to reduce costs and increase safety at the same time.

What learnings or insights will the participants take away from the session? We will learn about how computer vision and AI were used to gain a better automated understanding of what’s happening inside the commercial cargo trailer, and the benefits of that understanding.

Project Teaser

This session is associated with a pilot project that has been developed throughout our most recent STARTUP AUTOBAHN program. The comprehensive overview of this collaboration can be found below.

Using computer vision and artificial intel- ligence to monitor cargo inside large com- mercial trailers for trucking

Computer vision (CV) and AI technology have advanced to a point where it is possible to reliably evaluate camera footage to gain valuable business insights. In the highly standardized logistics industry, for example, monitoring the cargo is critical to reducing unused space, improving worker safety, and detecting movements that could damage the cargo and the vehicle.

Project Teasers can be accessed and downloaded on the respective program startup profiles with which our STARTUP AUTOBAHN partners teamed up with.
